We will meet in front of Oxford Brookes Sports Centre on Headington Campus at 12pm for a short introduction on what to look for and a brief of the general countryside codes, where they relate to foragers.
After the talk we’ll set off for a 2-3 hour walk identifying the different edible and poisonous plants, flowers, fruits and mushrooms that we find. There will be breaks along the way for some homemade refreshments such as our lovely wild food soup.
We will finish the day off with a light wild food lunch based on what we have found. This will include some tasty treats made from our recent finds, a wild salad that we will pick on the day and possibly even some wild garlic pesto or creamy wild mushrooms.
After the walk we will email you details of all the plants and mushrooms we find to help you remember what you have learnt.
This course is being kindly subsidised by Oxford Brookes University Sustainability team making it 50% the normal price.
Parking in the local area is extremely limited with none at the University. Active travel or public transport is convenient with a nearby bus stop and bike racks.
