Wild Food UK – Who are they?
Set up over 15 years ago and now probably the country’s premier foraging education company, Wild Food UK, co-founded by Marlow Renton and Eric Biggane, has contributed to innumerable public events, appearing on TV and radio shows and podcasts, with interviews, talks, demonstrations or consultancy. Marlow and Eric are now joined by our skilled foraging instructors and office team.
This is some of what we’ve been involved in:
- Numerous TV cookery programmes, BBC Nature programmes and even dating programmes! To name but a few… Mary Berry’s Absolute Favourites, Walks with My Dog with Julian Clary, James Martin’s Islands to Highlands, the very first episode of Simply Raymond Blanc, the Vaness Feltz show and Philip Pullman’s fantasy drama – His Dark Materials.
- Interviewed on many radio shows – from Jeremy Vine and Farming Today to BBC Local Radio. Hear Eric on Radio 4’s Crowd Science episode ‘Where Do All Our Vegetables Come From?’
- Own Wild Food UK YouTube Channel – Prolific creator of free educational video content – viewed over 1 million times in the last year.
- Provided comment and expert opinion to live news programmes both nationally and locally, including the Deathcap mushroom story from Australia!
- Collaborated and talked about foraging for food with numerous celebrity chefs, including James Martin, Michelin starred chef, Raymond Blanc, Asian cuisine chef Jeremy Pang – and of course, national treasure, Mary Berry!
- Featured at hundreds of events as professional speakers and demonstrators for both foraging and cooking – on major stages and smaller talk tents, including most recently the Royal Three Counties Show.
- Team building, celebration, party and entertainment events: we’ve provided innumerable bespoke private foraging events for businesses such as Jaguar Land Rover, Craghoppers Outdoor Clothing, charities, organisations, schools, universities and individuals. We also organise hen and stag events!
