This course is a simple foraging walk where we hope to be able to identify a selection of edible and poisonous plants, flowers, fruits and hopefully some tasty Summer mushrooms.
We will meet at the Castle Street entrance to the park beside the Pettigrew Tea Rooms at 12pm. The course starts there with a 20 minute introduction on what to look for and a brief of the general countryside codes where they relate to foragers. Tea or coffee is available from the cafe.
After a 2 to 3 hour walk around the Park we will discuss and taste our finds over a tasty wild food lunch.
We will email all of you details of all the plants we find to help you remember what you have learnt a couple of days after the course.
We recommend you bring
- Warm protective clothing and footwear
- Camera
- Note pad/pen
- A drink
Under 12 year olds can come for free, within reason; but please let us know how many will be coming in advance.
Drinks at the cafe are not included.
