Devon, Exeter Spring Foraging Courses
We will meet at 12pm at the Double Locks Hotel, a beautiful canal side venue on the outskirts of Exeter. The course starts there with a 20 minute introduction on what to look for and a brief of the general countryside codes where they relate to foragers.
After the talk we will set off for a 2-3 hour walk around the area identifying a selection of different edible and poisonous Spring shoots, plants, flowers and mushrooms. We’ll stop for some of our lovely hogweed and wild garlic soup somewhere along the way.
Then it’s back to the pub for a tasty wild food lunch based on what we have found. This could be anything from Wild Garlic Pesto to creamy mushroom pasta and will always include a fresh wild salad that we’ll pick on the walk.
We will email all of you details of all the plants we find to help you remember what you have learnt.
