ABOUT THE COURSE
Chantry Woods’ 200 acres of woodlands are home to British Oak, Ash, Beech, American Redwood and Fir to name but a few, making it ideal for Autumn foraging. Being on the outskirts of Guildford it can be easily reached from Farnborough, Aldershot, Woking, Leatherhead and Horsham.
We will meet at the car park at 12pm. The course starts there with a 20 minute introduction on what to look for and a brief of the general countryside codes where they relate to foragers.
Then we’ll set off for a 2-3 hour walk around the park identifying the different Autumn plants, fruits and mushrooms that we find. There will be a break somewhere along the way for a taste of our lovely wild food soup or possibly some elderflower champagne.
We will finish the day off with a light wild food taster lunch based on what we have found. This will include some tasty treats such as some creamy mushroom pasta and homemade produce such as our wild mushroom pate.
After the walk, we will email you with the details of all of the plants and mushrooms we find to help you to remember what you have learnt.
