We will meet at 11.45am at the free public car park, outside of the garden centre. At 12pm we will move together to Mistletoe Wood just a few meters away. There is limited space for cars inside the wood, so on occasion some cars may have to remain in the public car park.

All our courses start with a talk on our foraging guidelines. We’ll then set off for roughly a 2.5 hour, slow-paced walk around the area, identifying the edible plants and mushrooms that we find, and picking some for the meal later on. We’ll also identify the poisonous species and learn what to avoid when foraging. Along the way, we’ll stop for some wild food treats. At the end, we’ll create a tasty seasonal meal based on what has been found.

After the course we will email you a list of everything we talk about on the day, to help you remember what you have learnt.

For your day, we recommend you bring

  • Comfortable, weather appropriate clothing and footwear
  • Cup to try our drinks/soup during the walk
  • Plate and cutlery for the meal at the end of the course
  • Water / drink to stay hydrated
  • Camera, note pad & pen

Under 12 year olds can come for free, within reason; but please let us know how many will be coming in advance so that we can make catering arrangements.

  • 3:30pm is only an approximate finish time and depending on circumstances, the course could run until 4pm.

Compost toilets are available at the venue.
Dogs are allowed but must be kept on lead at all times.

Public transport:
High Wycombe railway station is 6 miles away, usually taking 15 min by taxi or 30 min cycling. The station sees regular services to London (Marylebone) and Oxford operated by Chiltern Railways. Non-folding bikes are restricted at certain times, check with Chiltern Railways for more information.
St Francis Road is the nearest bus stop to the meeting point.
We are not able to collect people from High Wycombe, if travelling by public transport you are responsible for making your own travel arrangements.
